Trip Report:
At first we canceled this trip because there was a severe thunder storm warning and the forecast looked bad all day. After the storm when thought the skies clear and the weather forecast was change to not raining again until 4 PM. We then when paddled anyhow with the car shift at 10:30. As it was the paddle had no rain at all. We saw one bald eagle and many blue herons and it was a great paddle. The river conditions where 111 CFS at a height of 4.88 Ft at Farland. It must cloud with a high of 80.
We will meet at Bauman Park about 09:30, and plan to run the car shift by 10:00. If there is enough interest, the trip can be extended to the rest area on State Route 2 about ½ mile down stream from Meridian Road on the Rock River, and we will run car shuttles to both locations. Parking at Bauman park is crowded on 4 July, so arriving early is a suggestion.Disclaimer:

Here is where we start in Beliot, WI
This was a wonder full day on on the Rock River from Beloit to Riverside Park. It started off clouded and 75 and then turn mostly sunny and got to 86. The Rock River gage at Rockton was at 4.06 ft. and 4760 cfs. My GPS showed 12.84 miles but I know it cut out a few times so it had to be more.
Saturday May 14, 2016, Tom and I are doing Turtle Creek for sure from O’Riley Road to Sweet Allyn Park. We had to go somewhere because the South Branch Kish Paddle was getting canceled.
You can get there by taking I-39 west (really north here) to Shopiere Road (exit 183) just past I-43 (or Beloit). On Shopiere Road head turn right (or heading east) to the town Shopiere. Turn left at S Co Road J (heading North) and the park is just to your right past Turtle Creek bridge.
Arrive at 9:30 am at Sweet Allyn Park, if there are any extra people going we can do a Car shift at 10:00, arrive early enough so we know who is going.
