Kishwaukee River 10/14/2018 from Bauman Park to Atwood

Stateline Paddlers is hosting a trip on the Kishwaukee River from Bauman Park in Cherry Valley to Seth Atwood forest preserve on Sunday, 14 of October 2018.  Car shuttle is at 10:00, so plan to arrive by 09:45 for time to unload.

This is a COLD weather paddle, the high temperature for the day is predicted to be 46°F, and the water will be cold.  Dry suits or wet suits are highly recommended if you have one.  Also note the gage height is high now but is predicted to be lower on Sunday.  Here is the link https://water.weather.gov/ahps2/hydrograph.php?wfo=lot&gage=pryi2.

Pecatonica River East Branch paddle on 9/22/2018

Saturday, 9/22/2018 is the Pecatonica River East Branch paddle. Put in is at County Road H boat launch in Blanchardville,Wisconsin and the take out is off WI 78 in Argyle, Wisconsin. 
The picturesque paddle goes through prairies, Oak savannas, lowland forests with notable out croppings along the way. 
Expect to see bald Eagles, great blue herons, kingfishers, turtles, frogs, Hawks, cattle and pigs.
The trip is around 16 miles so we need to plan on about 6 hours unless the current us really flowing. Which after our rains this week hopefully so. 
Plan on lunch and bring snacks to share. 
We will have the shuttle at 10 AM. 
Usual rules apply but this should be a beautiful day out on the river.

Platte River Paddle – Ellenboro, WI to Tenneson, WI Saturday, August 25, 2018

The paddle on the August 25th puts in at Airport Road in Ellenboro Wisconsin and the take out is just south of Ellenboro/Big Platte road in Tennyson. 

The distance is 12.3 miles and we should allow 4-5 hours paddling not counting lunch break.. 

There are a few riffles and some class 1 rapids. With lots of rolling hills, outcrops and beautiful bluffs.

We should gather in Beliot around 8 as it is a 2 hour drive but it will be worth it. Call Kevin for more information at 779-770-8536.

Sugar River Paddle, Yale Bridge Road to Two Rivers Forest Preserve, Saturday, July 21, 2018

We will meet at Yale Bridge on Saturday, July 21, 2018 at about 9:07 AM. The canoe launch is north of Sugar River Forest Preserve as shown in the map below. We will shuttle at 9:37 and try to be on the water 10ish.
The lower Sugar River is a winding river for moderate paddlers. It is usually a somewhat slower current however it is at higher water levels it can be stronger. It is has a sand bottom with some tree dams to go around. The section of the sugar we will run is from Yale Bridge Road to Two Rivers Forest Preserve. The trip will be all down river except for the last 1500 feet going upstream on the Pecatonica River to the take out in Two Rivers Forest Preserve. Bring a lunch or snack as we will be stopping on a sand bar along way if we can find one. I will go over a few pointers about paddling on a river just before we put in for the beginners if we have any.
The short trip will be 7.6 miles or about 3.5 hours weather permitting of course. Jeff Reuter will be hosting this paddle for more info call me on my cell at 815-494-8502. Here is a map of where we will be.

Meet at 9:47 am in at Stebbensville road, take out at Rock River at H.  Car shuttle at 10:07 am.  This is a 11 mile paddle.  We will stop at the park in Fulton for Lunch.  Approx. 4.5 hour paddle including lunch break.

Directions from I90:  Take 14 west at Janesville to H, turn right (heading north) on H.  Then take a left on M (heading west) just before Fulton.  Then take right on N (Casey Road heading north) and then a right on W. Stebbensville Road (heading east).  The put in is about a .75 mile on your right just after crossing the Yahara River.  Map attached. For questions call 608-295-9141.

Rock River from Beloit to Riverside Park, Sunday June 10 2018

We will meet at the launch site at 4th St (Route 213), Beloit, WI in the bicycle co. parking lot, just north of the Rock River at 09:30 am.
For a shorter trip, if there is interest, we can run a second shuttle on the other side of the river to stop at Macktown FP.
It is about a 6.5 to Macktown and 13 mile trip to Riverside Park.
The car shuttle will leave at 10:00. This should allow us to be on the river at 10:30.
We will stop for lunch at the Rockton Dam that we have to portage around.
The long term weather forecast calls for Partly Sunny, and 77°F.

Pecatonica River paddle from McNeil Damascus dock off Cedarville Road to Tutty’s Crossing in Freeport

The shuttle is leaving from the McNeil Damascus dock at 10 AM. It will be a 14 mile trip ending up at Tutty’s crossing in Freeport. Directions from Rockford : Route 20 west to bypass 20 at Freeport. Take that to route 26 north to Cedarville. Once in Cedarville take a left at the Mobil gas station ( Cedarville road ) and head west till you get to the river. Entrance is on the west side of the river. Pack a lunch, lots of water, sun screen and probably bug spray. All the usual rules and safety protocols should be followed. Hope to see many of you there. Rock River from Oregon to Grand Detour on Saturday 26 May 2018

StateLine Paddlers trip on the Rock River from Oregon to Grand Detour on Saturday 26 May 2018.

Those looking for a short trip can get out at the Castle Rock lunch break, about 5 miles, Grand Detour is just under 11miles, and if there is interest, some can extend the trip to Lowell Park just over 19 miles total.

Plan on arriving at   East Park, Oregon  , on the east side of the river just north RT 64 (about a  1/2 mile south of Lowden State Park) on river road, by 10:00 to unload. 

I am running the car shift a little later than usual, 10:15, as some paddlers are joining us at the lunch break at Castle Rock State park and I am giving them a bit of extra time.

Launch 42° 1.037’N,  89° 19.520’W  –  Take out 41° 53.759’N  –  89° 24.784’W for you GPS people.

Car shift at 10:15.

The  weather forecast shows 85°F, SSW wind @ 10 mph and a possible shower (less than 1/8” rain).

Young at Heart Parade 2018

47th Annual ‘YOUNG AT HEART PARADE’ on Saturday, May 
26, 2018, at 9:00 A.M. The parade route is on North 2’nd Street from Woodward Governor at Beacon Street to Theodore Street. If would like to volunteer to walk the route with us paddlers please contact Jeff Reuter. After the parade we are hoping to still meet up with the rest of the group paddling the Rock River.
